At first I was excited to get the X, however as time goes on and I hear about the potential delays I really don't care if I get this year's phone or not. I will preorder when it goes live, however if it doesn't ship by Christmas I will cancel and be content on waiting for next year's improved and larger model.

They will totally delay preorders. That is exactly why ads are going up for the Nov 3 launch date all over the world right now.

They won't delay the date. They may only have a few million max ready to be in customer's hands on launch day but they'd not delay.
Lol, another delay after delaying it for a month and a half, announcing official dates for pre order and release, putting up big ass posters and billboards advertising the X and the Nov 3 launch date everywhere (even in airports)? Not happening.

I'm sure supply will be ridiculously low for the November 3rd release, but there's no reason to believe it's going to be pushed back.
