Now that Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted that Apple will not have the same delays in production as it faced in 2017 with the iPhone X, I've started thinking about the new iPhone release next fall--with the names for the new phones to be something like the iPhone XI and XI Plus. If Ming-Chi Kuo is right and Apple sticks with its "traditional" fall release dates, that means: (1) I will have made 2 extra payments to Verizon (14 payments instead of 12) this year as part of the annual iPhone upgrade plan, and (2) if I want the "latest and greatest" iPhone on the release date next year, I will have to make an additional 2 payments so my current iPhone X will be 50% paid off in order to upgrade. From the perspective of the carriers, that's an extra 4 monthly device payments for every customer on the annual upgrade plan who wants to have the latest and greatest iPhone on release date....not exactly chump change! And I was lucky enough to get my iPhone X on November 3--those with shipping delays could face even more payments.

Am I missing something?
