The source is usually good, but yeah, not sure on this one. Also find it weird that the blush gold color option is experiencing manufacturing delays. It’s just a color variation of the same materials/design.

Called my local Verizon corporate store. I was told that rumors they are getting is the release of the IPhone 8 (i.e.7S?) will be on Friday, Sept 22. The IPhone X may not be available until October. I was told to watch the press announcement tomorrow.

Ming-Chi Kuo is an attention whore, and it doesn't matter if he's wrong half the time. Of course, MacRumors gets clicks from this guy so carry on....
That may be true, but we've all seen this stuff before. Apple will intentionally keep availability of new products tight so that the hysteria drives ever more demand, and continues to frustrate the hell out of buyers. I guess there aren't enough new whiz-bang features in the X to keep that demand strong by themselves.

enjoy your iphone X in 2019 if you order at 12:01

on a serious note: no way they release it if they're getting production numbers that low

It may have been accurate at one point (maybe at the start of production) but it can't be accurate now. They'll never be able to catch up with demand at that rate.

Tell them you're the VP of Sales at apple and you want the iphone X to be sold starting sept 22nd

Same story every year. Preorder early or it will be delayed.
We definitely do not get stories from Kuo stating initial production numbers of 10k/day for a new iPhone every year. If this is even close to true it's disastrous for Apple.

Initial production at 10k/day. Surely that was just the very first run? That doesn't necessarily mean they're still producing at that number or they probably would have held off on this event.

I am just saying there is always rumors/truths of delays. There usually are delays and if you don't preorder early, you won't get one for a while. Happened last year and the year before that.
