Hey All,

Curious about a few things for those of you who have been on the X for a minute.

Obviously in love with the screen, but my hesitations are the following:

  1. Situations like at my desk, where i like to simply put my finger on the scanner to go to homescreen/use the phone while its laying flat on my desk. This become an issue with the x? Have to either hold it up and swipe up, or enter passcode and swipe up anytime you want to unlock it. This can be applied to anything really, anytime you are used to subtlety checking your phone.

i want to love this phone as much as the next one, but this not seem like a legit step back in functionality? (and im admittedly an Apple fanboy)

I returned mine due to dust inside the camera housing. But when I had it, I had no trouble with Face Id on a desk from a sitting position or at a higher workstation when standing while working. I did read somewhere though that when you do your scans, don't hold the phone straight up and down and out in front of your face. Hold it at more of a 45 degree-ish angle to do the scans--more like you would naturally hold the phones.

With this, I really didn't even have to lean over to unlock the phone. Just tap, swipe and I'm in. Loved it, really, and I didn't think I would. If I wasn't anal about the build quality and seal (dust) I would still have the device.

Very minor. If you primarily use your phone without looking at it or an arms length away on your desk, then maybe. Just pull your phone closer or pick it up to use it.

what did you switch to? First ive heard of built quality issues. Only read good things there about weight and being sturdy. hmm. granted havent followed it all too closely of recent.
