In all the videos/photos the X looks to have a wider screen than the 4.7 inch iPhone but not as wide as the Plus.

Yet in Apples developers guidelines it has the same 375 Points for developers. Anyone know how this works?
 
I’m pretty sure it’s x3 instead of x2 so it’s the same width just has higher pixel count which makes it sound like it is wider but it’s the same

If you look at the images on the 'Compare models' page on Apple, the screen is definitely wider.
Also, Mobiletechreview on YT points to the Apple page for human interface details, which states that 'points' are an abstract unit so just because the points are the same doesn't mean the actual physical size is the same.
You should find the X screen is marginally wider by a couple of millimetres each side. Somebody kindly did the maths here: #23
