Anyone think that the lead time for iPhone X preorders (and eventually orders) will slip further than the current 5-6 weeks? Or will people who are waking up now or thinking of preordering during the next week going to see the current lead time and get discouraged, perhaps waiting for more units to be available before placing that order?

And yes, I know that forecasts are that demand won't meet supply until sometime in 2018 but perhaps there are people out there who prefer knowing there's stock available to shop before ordering.

Im wondering the same. A fried of mine at a Verizon store preordered for me, but I was also able to preorder one myself. Both paid in full up front. I am trying to decide to cancel one or maybe be a dreaded "scalper" and sell one around the holidays. As of right now it looks like there is plenty of stock.

Nearly 12 hours later and still at 5-6 weeks pretty much a cross the board.
