curios if anyone knows if the x supports the new LTE SPEEDS like the galaxy s8 plus?

assuming it shares the same LTE chipset as the 8, then no it does not have 4x4 MIMO for gigabit LTE

in terms of gigabit LTE, Telstra in Australia has it and probably SK Telecom in South Korea... maybe DoCoMo? don’t know where you are based, but if in US, the carriers are still in limited market trials and are no where close to launching it en masse in 2018... likely a 2019 capability

I don't know what you mean by LTE speeds, as speeds are determined by many factors such as the band, carrier aggregation, congestion, etc. The S8+ supports 4x4 MIMO which the iPhone X does not, so technically it isn't as fast.

Got it. Thanks. I should have been more clear in asking if it will support the next gen LTE / 5G

You are talking about Lte-Advanced, Yes the iPhone 8 iPhone x and Samsung S8 all supports it. But the network also have to support it to be able to use these faster speeds which are way faster than regular lte devices.
