What if there was a 3rd iPhone X model, which would you purchase? Looks like folks are loving the white back but would prefer the space grey band.

I tentatively voted for the third option, but I'd have to see it first.

Though, really, the stainless steel band is barely visible from the front.

Current silver does NOT have a white back. It is a light silver back. I wish people would stop calling it white.

It's really, really close to white. I hold it up to very white things (eg. my Magic Trackpad, a white webpage on my iMac, etc), and it's pretty damned close.

Yes, the official name is Silver, and it's not white white, but it's definitely not a silver color, either. In the spectrum of white <---> silver, the back of the Silver X falls much closer to white than it does silver.

May “look” white to you but it’s definitely still silver just like the Magic Trackpad that I have as well. I get people’s perceptions with color but the phone is as Apple calls it “silver”. Yes it is very light silver but not white.

Personally id rather have space grey with the silver stainless band, only reason I went for the silver is because of how damn good that stainless band looks

Seems like a redundant color option.

Some people chose the grey option even though they liked the silver because they didn't like the chrome-like look of the stainless steel band on the silver X, hence the OP's question.

I would want SG with silver SS band if we are making up other options now. Although the silver is a nice phone and I'm happy with it.

It is silver because the band is silver. I believe that is what Apple meant by that. Sort of like how the bezel is white on the iPhone 7 but the aluminum back is silver, but the phone is called silver. The back is white but with glass on top, it looks more concrete. Apple calls it silver because of the band not because of the back.

Looks white to me, so gonna keep calling the back white even if it’s not white.

No, man. It is white. It’s called silver because of the band.

Whatever it’s called I love the stone/concrete look. It’s all the rage these days. Look at the car colors. The new concrete color that Toyota is using in the latest models look very close to the back of the silver.

Say what you want but it’s still silver on the back and THAT is why Apple called it silver, not because of the stainless steel band. Otherwise they would have called it stainless steal.
