iPhone X iPhone X - Youtube - No 1440p or HDR?

Hi,

Have an iPhone X and on Youtube I can't get 1440p on any video working? Max is 1080p. Read a while back that they had added 1440p and HDR but neither are available on mine. Any ideas?

That is a problem with the YouTube app. You will need to view YouTube thru the webpage view in Chrome to see higher than 180p.

You won't see any difference between 1440 and 1080 on any iPhone

If the vid is available in that res it should show but tbh 1080 looks flawless on the X screen.

Did news mediums say 1440p support was meant to come to the iPhone X because anything to make it occur would be artificial?

It doesn’t to me, as the screen is higher than 1080p. 1440p looks flawless because it’s greater than the screen resolution so looks as sharp as possible with the display resolution.

1080p looks good but 1440p looked better when it did it. Think it may be the new thing google are doing with their video codec so I’ve been told. Hope Apple sorts it as Safari doesn’t do more than 1080p on my MBP either.

Tbh the 16:9 res would still probably be 1080. Looks phenomenal to me. I’d see you’re imagining it but you probably just have more of an eye for precise detail.
