Hi,

Right now I have iPhone 7 plus and I honestly could not decide by myself which one should I get, iPhone XR or OnePlus 7T.
Can You please share your thoughts with me?

If you find OnePlus good to use, then go ahead. I would go with better phone in my opinion, it is Oneplus. It is a blessing the company coming out with better products.
Again some will say this is a Chinese company, the beneficiary will be the Communist regime. They are the evil doer of the world, even it is snowing or heavy snow happen, some will :) :)blame them. What a world we are living in.

OnePlus makes solid phones, but it appears their customer service is nearly as bad as google. If it was the iPhone 11 vs OnePlus I would suggest the 11 because it’s a safer bet.

I raved about my XR when I got it, but ultimately it was too small (I'm 6'6") so recently bought a 7T. As long as you are comfortable with Android, 7T smokes it in every way.

So I take it back kinda. The 7T is better than the XR. Just bought an 11 Pro max today, that trounces the 7T.

nothing wrong with one plus, I needed the iCloud eco system for work. Glad to be back.

If you never buy any apps nor use Apple ecosystem while you are on your 7 plus, then just buy whichever you find to be a good deal.

Personally, I would get the iPhone 11. Paying $600 or more for an Android phone imo is no longer worth it. But since you’re presumably in the US, the choice of great cheap Android phones are quite limited, so I guess the OnePlus isas good as you can get.

If I had to choose myself, I would get the Realme X2 Pro. Snapdragon 855 plus, 90Hz screen, all for less than $400. Bkk does love ripping off western countries’ customers with their OnePlus brand, while emerging markets get the real good deal from Realme. :D

iPhone XR - better battery, better performance, guaranteed at least four more years of support, more secure, FaceID, beautifully written and well supported apps, no effort to maintain, no need for antivirus on your phone... I could go on ;-)

Only criticism is if you have an existing iPhone it might seem a little less exciting but when you have things going on in life this form of reliable and rock solid technology wins hands down.

The OnePlus I'm sure is great relative to Android phones, but don't confuse that with the iPhone! Android phones (and some nice Windows laptops) look great online and in marketing, and the spec-sheet, for sure, but if Apple does or ever did appeal to you and please you, it'll be hard to get that taste out of your mouth for anything that is even slightly different (read: more work). That's my experience.

I speak as someone who bought an iPhone XR in January 2019, sold it in May for a brand new S10+ and sold it 7 days later for.... another iPhone XR! Lol

How prepared are you to leave the Apple ecosystem? Are you heavily invested e.g. Apple Watch, iPad, MacBook, Apps etc....?

If you are then maybe rather get the XR.

If not then I’d say give the OnePlus 7T a go, a mate of mine got his in a recent trip to the USA and he is loving it coming from his 3T which had aged pretty well.

Be prepared for a big change, I am finding it hard to fully go back to Android from my XS Max, I recently updated my P30 Pro to Android 10 and absolutely loving it BUT there is something about the Apple ecosystem and it’s overall cohesiveness and consistency throughout that makes it hard to leave. You simply cannot get the same experience anywhere else.
