So been using the Xr for 2 weeks now, weirdly at times the screen doesn’t respond so need to press the home buttom again to lock it and then it unlocks again. Anyone seen this?
[doublepost=1543732915][/doublepost]Also, there was an occasion where the phone required a hard rest to come back to normal. Seen a few of posts on subreddit iPhoneXr too.

Never had the issue, you may want to take it in or contact support.

We should have a sticky for “my brand new iPhone isn’t working”.

1 - Exchange it at the Apple Store

“There’s no apple store near me”

2- Send it in

“but I won’t have it for 2 days”

3- Too bad but humanity lived 100,000 years without phones. Plus Apple might send you a new one before you even send yours in if you have Apple Care.

You mean the Side button former Power/Sleep button? The Home button functionality is a swipe up from the bottom.

Since the side button suspends all apps, there’s no wonder any misbehaving app is shut down too. Try to identify the problematic app specifically and delete it.
So my understanding from your comment is that - an application which is running when the phone is locked, basically acts up when I try to unlock the phone and when I press the side button (which suspends the apps) - it suspends this app as well and next time I try to unlock, it works smoothly.

1. So this is a software issue, precisely an issue with an application?
2. How do I figure out which app this is? Tough one, but any tips?

I have had a problem a couple times when trying to answer a call where I would swipe the phone and nothing happened.

Has happened to me as well on my previous iPhoneX so definitely not an iPhone Xr issue.
I am still trying to narrow down my issue. No luck though.
