iPhone XR iPhone XR takes better low light portrait shots than the XS

    Yeah because it is using the larger sensor wide angle camera. The wide-angle camera gets about 2 stops more light than the smaller sensor telephoto. The only disadvantage is that the wide angle will bring more distortion.

    Hopefully this gets brought to the iPhone XS?

    Perhaps if it detects low light it automatically switches to the wide angle?
