It depends on your definition of worth it, I upgraded my son's XR to 11 just because of the upgrade program. The new mint color is what sold him on it. The wide angle camera is about the only benefit I can think of. Performance wise it's the same.

Yup, I'd have gone with the 11 myself. That's the only reason I got the XS Max and this year the 11 Pro Max.

I disagree. I’m loving the ultra wide. I never feel the need to zoom in close

The screen is the same. I get 99% of the people can’t tell but the screen is the same, battery life increased by 1hr. Yah photo is better but it’s not worth it. Stick to the xr. Maybe the 12 will have a 1080p and Oled screen or something.
