Is the iPhone XR the one to get if you are looking for a bigger screen, longer battery and cheaper price?

The XR seems to be a really good compromise on the things missed for the couple of hundreds more XS Max.

While I reckon that the screen of XS max is better, for the amount of dollars you are saving seems worthy.

Besides if you want to get the physical dual SIM your only choices are the XS max or XR.
 
Yes. As mentioned in other threads, the Xr has the same amount of screen info as the Max. The screen on the Xr has a lower pixel density, but it's still relatively decent. If you like the screen on the iPhone 7 or 8, then you'll like the screen on the Xr, because they have the exact same pixel density.

The only guarantee is the battery life on the XR will be the best of the 3. Possibly the best battery life of any iPhone in history.
