No noted issues yet, have had it about a week now

ETA, the wife also has a XS, same location and build date also with no issues.

Same build date/location for me only difference is a 256GB Max (also on AT&T).

No LTE issues with mine.

LTE signal (rsrp0 is typically around -115) is poor, but the call quality is, nevertheless, good everywhere: I have not dropped out of LTE or dropped a call. LTE speed is approximately 20% faster than my X in most of my usual locations except for my office where it's about the same (abysmal for any phone on AT&T, including my Note 8: others in my office have poor LTE speed with just about any carrier and any phone). LTE in some locations is significantly faster than my X (e.g., 98 mbs down vs 55 mbs down). Last night, I was getting a shocking (for me) 166 mbs down at a friend's house where I would typically get around 25 mbs on my X (I was definitely on LTE and not on his wifi).

12.01 fixed the charging bug for me.

Bluetooth has been reliable connected to my car audio, AirPods, and Apple Watch Series 4

Wifi has been reliable and fast. After resetting Network Settings, my Max reliably connects to 5ghz. I have an Eero Pro system at home and AT&T Uverse, and my wifi speeds are consistently 50 -85 mbs (my maximum speed from Uverse is 100 mbs). I also have an employer provided AT&T hotspot, and the XS Max connects reliably, maintains the connection, and the speed is typically improved over my X.

LTE was unreliable and frequently dropped calls easily handled in the same locations by my 8+. With good signals, I never had any problems with WiFi or LTE speeds. Once phone acquired 3G/4G, it was very resistant to go back to LTE even when a strong LTE signal was present. I frequently tested the XSM and 8+ side-by-side for comparison. There was NO comparison between them when it came to signal reception.

LTE speeds sometimes fine, other times poor.
Ditto for wifi.

Returned. Might buy again in a few weeks or whenever these issues are resolved.

To the OP: Have you been keeping track of the responses? Are there any patterns emerging?

No pattern at all. I was hoping there'd be one. Early builds, one factory but nothing. It sucks.

Haven’t really noticed degraded LTE. Got 2 bars on my X and am still getting 2 bars. I use wifi calling whenever possible.

Speaking of wifi, that has been my issue. Had the 5ghz issue. It is better after 12.0.1, but still worse than the X it replaced.

No other issues that I’m aware of.

So far my second iPhone Xs is functioning way better than my original. No yellow tint on screen. WiFi and data speeds are the same as my Pixel 2. Maybe 5 mbps slower on average. Signal strength is about the same and I don’t have the issue of the signal fluctuating like the old.
So I have no idea. I was hoping to see a pattern in build date and factory but nothing.

I only experienced the charging issue but has since been resolved with 12.0.1. LTE speeds are good and no network issues so far.

LTE was bad but now better with beta

I have included picture of both my Verizon X and Verizon Max. Both where sitting beside each other. The Max is now on Beta release and since the last update the LTE signal has been much better.

X is on the right. Max on the left.

I work for Apple Authorized Retailer in Czech Republic,Europe and today i looked into database about all colours of XS MAX 256 GB and in total there was only 1 complaint and money given back because problem: cannot connect to Wifi AP. but nothing else. So maybe USA really got a big bad batch

+
So i looked how much did we sell at our branch office:
118+175+166 = 459 times iphone 256GB sold and one customer had an issue i have written
and
76+122+53 =251 times iphone 64GB variant - no issues

so i think one issue from 710 iphones means i can buy one 256GB too :)

LTE: Good reception and fast speed. Improved over iPhone 7 Plus.
Wi-Fi: Poor reception and so so speed with 12.0. Good reception and good speed with 12.0.1 (not quite as good as 7 Plus).

Build dates have no effect. That's like when people wait for the other releases for production issue.

Poor LTE (looking for signal every minute). Wi-Fi same speed as on my past X.. return my money until apple admits what is the problem. Happy with my old X at this moment, lets see what happens. Maybe we can skip this gen with no big changes, maybe the big and worst change, the poor conectivity.
