Justine is an actress. Her channel is entertainment. That’s her persona, not actually her. You go there to get a dose of fun and see new products be used in a fun way. She’s like that with pretty much everything she covers, not just Apple stuff, though she started out like many of us on this forum, a genuine fan of Apple products.

In a sea of truly nasty inappropriate obnoxious YT personalities, she stands out as someone fun and fairly informative and family friendly.

I admire her for going strong this many years in an environment that exposes intelligent attractive young women like her to so much negativity and pervy remarks. When I see some of the appalling creepy stalker comments some of the tech reviewers are subjected to, especially the female ones, I am glad I don’t have any children interested in running a YT channel.

Actually they’re not the same. There are some real differences “under the hood” so to speak. Those differences have been covered pretty thoroughly by various publications including this site. The differences may not be significant to YOU, but they are to some of us who have been waiting for these refinements.

The phones are the same, period. The only reasonable upgrade would be going from 5S to X. Everything in between is just pure bollocks.. are you now saying that it’s worth upgrading from the X? For what? For a split second difference in Face ID unlocking? And trust me, that’s just the brain justifying the fact that you’ve just spent 1000$. I’m an Apple fan but that’s just idiotic.

Not that anyone would claim Justine is doing anything remotely scientific, but her FaceID "test" can't possibly be accurate. Think about the fact that BOTH of those phones were projecting the IR "dots" or whatever on her face at once. That's bound to confuse things and give an inaccurate result.

I stand with GrumpyMom. You may find it impossible to justify upgrading to an iPhone Xs (and considering its ridiculous price I can totally understand that), but to ignore the actual changes that the new device brings is just not fair.

The problem is that people tend to consider the features that Apple mentioned during their keynote, or whatever reviewers name. And generally there's plenty of other features that don't get any mention. When you take those features into account, you'll see that the complete set of new things is definitely more than you'd think.

It's still the most marginal 's' upgrade ever, that I cannot refuse to acknowledge. But I can see people upgrading to the iPhone Xs. Even if they're coming from an iPhone X, be it for the bigger screen if the iPhone Xs Max.

And by the way, I agree with GrumpyMom on iJustine as well: she may be a bit too enthusiastic when it comes to Apple products, but damn do I love that enthusiasm of hers. I do follow many other YouTubers obviously (like Marques Brownlee, Jonathan Morrison, Austin Evans and SuperSaf) and look very much forward to their extensive reviews.

Only the individual consumer can decide whether or not an upgrade is worth doing. That decision will rest on many varied factors unique to a person’s circumstances and tastes.

I’m not going to rehash everything new that’s on the iPhone spec sheet. I assume you can and have read all of that information for yourself.

I will say for me personally, the ability to record memories of my family gatherings in true to life immersive stereo audio is a feature I felt was long overdue for iPhones and definitely incited me to upgrade this year from an 8 Plus, despite not being super impressed with the X last Christmas. I also look forward to better modem performance.

Where I have erred on this forum in the past, when making declarations similar to yours, is in assuming my wants, needs and opinions are the end all-be all and that anything that falls outside of my viewpoint isn’t worthy of consideration. Life is more nuanced than I once seemed able to appreciate. Fortunately I have grown past that.
