iPhone xs leathercase question

Is the official Apple leather case for the xs good protection? Is it a good case overall?

That’s all I’ve used since the 5s. There are more protective cases out there but the Apple leather case gives good protection with minimal bulk. I did buy a smart battery case recently but don’t use it exclusively.
