Just want to share this experience because I definitely missing something in here:
I bought an Iphone Max at launch midnight Online and 2 days ago I bought another one at the retail store nearby.

Home Zipcode 91748
Apple Store Zipcode: 92821
State: California

Price for the Apple Iphone XS Max 512Gb Black Unlocked Online: $1586.65

Price for the Apple Iphone XS Max 512Gb Black Unlocked at Retail Store: $1561.30

Price difference: $25.35

What new wonderful California Law I'm unaware of?

Never experienced anything like that before. Any idea?

Sale tax is different. Went to a different county last yr to purchase iPhone X and the final amount was different from if I order from online (zip code)
Apple tax you base on your billing address

Same address for both transactions.
The online store is more expensive than the retail store that is 3 miles from where I live.
How is it possible???

Home Zip = City of Industry (Los Angeles County), CA = 9.5% sales tax (6% Cali, 0.25% LA County, 3.25% special tax)
Apple Zip = Brea (Orange County), CA = 7.75% sales tax (6% Cali, 0.25% Orange County, 1.5% special tax)

Totals add up when figuring above taxes on $1449.00 purchase price from Apple Store. I'm guessing you haven't lived in California too long?

Wow, California sales tax is ridiculous.

Wow those taxes are ridiculous.

State sales tax here is 6%

$999 equals $1059 and that’s it lol.

However I’d rather be in Cali then here
