I'm having the ability to buy one of these two phones for almost the same price, I'm wondering which one I should choose. The differences, except the screen, are in the advantage of the iPhone 11 (better processor, better battery life). However, for some reason the XS Max feels more premium. The screen is obviously better, but the brightness is somewhat the same.

This makes the choice hard for me. Which one would you choose based on the following aspects?

XS MAX | 11
Battery: 12 hours | 15 hours
Screen: 660 nits | 625 nits
CPU: A12 | A13 with N1 co-processor
Camera: tele | wide
Video: 4k 30fps | 4k 60fps
Pixels: 458/inch | 326/inch

My current setup
I currently own an iPhone XR and a Sony A7RII. That being said, the camera is less important to me. I'm not a huge fan of the screen from the XR, as I read a lot of text and find the LCD less sharp compared to the iPhone 8 Plus I owned before. The XS Max should solve this issue for me.

Same situation and I ordered the 11 yesterday. I currently have the 8 Plus and after comparing the screen with the 11, which was absolutely the same for me, I decided to buy the 11.

But you are not in the same boat. I care about the camera and you don’t that’s why I would choose the XS Max in your position.

If camera/battery life/upgraded internals aren’t important, go with the XS Max.

I’d go with the pro max or not bother. I have the Sony camera too but not always with me. The difference is enough. The screen is better too in that it’s more bright and has double the contrast. Hdr pops much more on the pro. The extra battery is just a bonus.

Thanks for the advice guys! I've went over and bought the XS Max. No regrets. The XS Max has a much better screen and seems to be faster (more ram) than the XR. The Battery is acceptable but is not holding it until the end of the day unfortunately. I might end up buying a power bank and a wireless charger to give my iPhone some juice until the end of the day. After all, I don't want to dim the beautiful OLED screen yet. :)
