I understand the XS will be getting 4GB of ram, an upgrade from 3 GBs.
In day to day use is this noticeable? When would I notice the difference?

I take a lot of photos. Will the XS's camera be light years better than the 9? Anyone know the specs?
What are the odds the 9 gets wireless charging?
Will either of these get the new gorilla glass?

I just don't want to make the jump to the XS if in 2019 the replacement will be much better.
I think we can say with certainty the iPhone 9's (2019) replacement won't be way better than this years phone.

I really like the idea of having deeper blacks with an OLED display but apparently this new LCD screen is supposed to be significantly better than my current phone (iPhone 6)

Any and all advice is appreciated!

You’re going to have to wait until the devices get released anyway & Apple will announce all the details within a few weeks. So hold tight and see what they release officially.

There hasn’t been much rumours around anything else other than the screen sizes.

1. 4GB RAM will start making a difference with iOS 13 or 14.

2. The camera will be better. But not night and day. Like going from iPhone 8 to X.

3. 9 is getting wireless tech. Guaranteed.

4. If current iPhones have it then yes, else no.

5. XS and 9 are 2018 iPhones. Not 2019.

6. Yes, Even LCD will be a bit better. OLED will be better still.

If the iPhone 9 doesn’t come with a wireless charging capability then it’ll feel like a downgrade for those coming from the iPhone 8. The rumoured lack of 3DTouch is odd too as it’s been standard for the past 3 years.

Between the Xs and the 9 think I would get a 9, the are supposedly coming in more than one color, that’s usually fun.

But I’m getting the Xplus with the 6.46 inch display.

Been using the x and 8 plus for the past year, just wanted an x that was as wide as the 8 plus. The is x is simply too small for me.

Yes. It is. End of story. You’ll see when it happens.

No it is not guaranteed. The fact it's likely to happen doesn't mean it's guaranteed since you have ZERO information about it other than rumors.

EDIT: And obviously zero internal information as well, so do not say it's guaranteed. Nobody can be 100% certain. End of story.

Right, but the 6.1 lcd iPhone is still rumored to have a simulated version of 3D Touch, what the means exactly will be interesting to see. But the 6.1 iPhone isn’t for me, I’m looking at the 6.5 iPhone this year.

Why would it feel like a downgrade if its getting a better screen, camera, and facial rec at probably a lower price? I didn't think the 8 had wireless charging. Agreed about the 3D touch though.

All your questions will be answered in a few more weeks. Pointless to ask as no one here knows.

The thing I like about 3DTouch is the haptic feedback you get especially when moving the cursor around text. You can use a software simulated version of this already on the iPad and it’s pretty rubbish as it goes wild and selects text to delete. If Apple can come up with a new version for the iPhone that acts exactly the same as 3DT then it would make it completely redundant. I doubt they’ll do that. This is why I don’t hold out much hope to be honest.

The apparent lack of wireless charging that’s rumoured and the lack of 3DT to me seems like the 6.1” is a downgrade from the 8 and will be feature robbed simply to make it more inferior to the X while launching at a higher than warranted price point. It also looks like a big device judging by dummy videos so I’m not sold.

I was expecting the 6.1 to launch with an A11 chip already (as opposed to the latest A12) but this recent leak/ rumour suggests an A10 even o_O
