I have had an iPhone 13mini since introduction and have been happy with it. It seems as iPhones enter the AI age the mini's capabilities will be left farther and farther behind. I'm thinking about an upgrade.
I prefer the exterior design and materials and pricing of the 16 over that of the proposed 18. But I'm wondering if the benefits of the updated internal architecture of the 18 will become more and more apparent over the next 2-3 years. Right now, it seems, there are only a couple of things in Siri that the 18 can do that the 16 can't. Will this list expand meaningfully in the near future? In 2 years will I regret buying the older phone from a performance perspective?
