Iphone3gs Erase all content and settings problem!!

Hi, I erased all settings and content on my iphone 3gs today, and it never came up with the apple sign it just went straight to a black screen and i cant do anything with the phone now at all, any suggestions what this could be?

Would anyone have gotten ahold of your device? This issue usually comes up with a phone that's been jailbroken. Just making absolute sure.

How long has it been?

Try holding both the power and home buttons together for about 30 seconds (or less if the phone turns on).
 
about 4-5 hours. ive been trying to charge it to see if thats the problem but nothing is happening at all.
