I'm relatively new to the iPhone so perhaps this has been covered in depth and I just dont know it.

This happens a lot to me.
I'll be on a call and either a text or an email will come in and the notification ringtone will play at full volume making it so I have to tell the person I'm speaking with to hold on for a few seconds until the ringtone stops.

Is there anyway to make it a beep for notifications when I'm on a call?

TIA.

Not while on a phone call, as far as i have heard or read...You can disable your e-mail alerts though. The texting alert is what i think has no option yet, other than not having a long text tone set. (why have a ringtone for texts)?
