Might not be related but anybody get greenish/whitish spots that seem to reflect off when in a dark area but light is hitting off the camera? Notice it in Photo mode.

those are light reflections on the lens of the camera, not pixels

Is it just a trait of Apple users or all tech people to try to use a product in the most extreme possible way in the search for defects? It's like people here aren't happy until they find something wrong.

i wouldnt say that, its actually not so uncommon that you would use the slow-mo mode inhouse like for example the man with the pipe on that video. This makes videos inhouse not possible but anyway, the slow-mo mode is not so important for me because slow mo mode is not full HD i think and i will have 1080p all the time

nope, has nothing to do with the batch, every sensor has them. Your test was probably not correct because i can see only black which is not the way to test it. Put it to 120fps, set brightness to 75% and record a relatively dimm location, like a room with only one weak light bulb turned on and then point the camera around, in darker spots for example. Once you find the pixels you will see them also in daylight

Nope, I tried 120fps/240fps dark room with dim lights look around and find no dead pixels, mine is perfect so far, and I know about dead pixels my nikon and canon dslr have a few damaged.

You are lucky yours have no pixels like that because there is a very low chance that any sensor is perfect

There is a difference between damaged pixels and stuck pixels, most stuck pixels can be fix with disconnecting the power from the image sensor, I dont know if the iphone can do this by just powering off for at least 1min and see. Stuck pixels can come into play when the phone gets hot either by sun or by the same electronics around it. They will stay there until power is reset.

Most SLR cameras have that option, they will go into a process of disconecting the sensors power to clear some dead pixels on the sensor.

Do all the iPhones still have this issue ??? Should I exchange mine ???

Yes all iPhones seems to have this issue the three replacement iPhone 6+
all had this issue some are better than others.
1. First One had around 4 large green dots.
2. Second One had around 10 or more little green dots.
3. Finally my third one I only see 1 little green dot.

same as my iPhone 6 too
1. First One had around 5 green dots.
2. Second One had 1 little green dot I decided to keep this one.

best just keep your phone.

Has anyone had this issue completely resolved on their 6+? I have 1 bright flickering pixel only in 240FPS mode. I'm wondering if it's worth getting the phone swapped now, or just wait a bit.

I have three or four flickering spots on my 6. It shows in both 120 and 240, but it's very distracting in 240.

I'm apprehensive about exchanging it at this point since it seems to be a widespread issue (I also have uneven backlighting on my screen, but I've seen worse, so I don't want to get one of those...)

I checked my brothers iPhone 6, and my mothers iPhone 6, they both have the same issue, but their pixels are more towards the edge of the image/video whereas mine is almost dead center.

I don't seam to have any issues with my 1 hour old iPhone 6....sure its just not grain? BTW I've dealt with high speed cameras before and its ALLOT different than regular speed stuff..

Yes I'm sure, the way to test it is in a completely dark room. Put the phone to 120 or 240, turn the brightness of the screen all the way up, and if you have the problem, you will see the pixels glowing. I have one that's somewhat bright, and the 2nd one I found is very very faint, but it's definitely a bright pixel also.

My Sony SLT-A33 does this even with the advantage of an APS-C sized sensor. I would be surprised if a tiny phone camera sensor didn't exhibit this issue in a dark room.

If it happens outdoors on a cloudy day I'd be a little disappointed but to be honest as someone who has never seen the point in slow mo recording bar a bit of a gimmick it wouldn't be a deal breaker on mine. I'll find out next week if my 6+ does this.

Yeah my Canon 550D has one or two hot pixels....honestly doesn't bother me and they don't pop up unless I push the ASA rating....Still don't see anything on my iPhone 6....Ill have to try it later when its really dark but right now I guess I'm getting used to the phone in general!

I understand, I too have an SLR. But, are you telling me if the hot pixel was always there almost literally in the middle of the picture you wouldn't want it fixed? The other 2 phones my family members have, have the hot pixels on the sides very close to the edge, which definitely isn't bothersome as compared to mine. But as someone else said, I'm also weary of exchanging my phone and ending up with even more hot pixels.

I did the test.
covered with my hand, then removed my hand.

in plain dark, it's fine. but when I remove my hand, it's not a few pixels only, it's the whole screen that's blinking!!

is that some kind of bad light bulbs I have?

Well today I was taking a slo mo video and notice what I thought was a bad pixel and after a search, found this thread. Some things bug me. Some things do not. I don't care what anyone says, this would bug me every time I use the slo mo, because my eyes would continuous be drawn to it, and i'm not gonna lie to myself and pretend its not there.

Went to to the apple store, check about 6 display models as I was waiting for my appointment. Funny.....all were fine, no slo mo problems that I could see. There were more but didn't have time check them.

Apple did a swap, and the good news.........its perfect, not a hot pixel to be found. Am I satisfied that it worked out in the end, and was it worth it? Yes, one less thing to be annoyed with. ;)

Went to the Apple Store regent street today. They swapped out the camera module in half an hour. It fixed the issue so it appears to either be dust or issues with the sensor.

You will send it back for a replacement that could we'll have other issues. Good luck but I hope you find the "perfect" handset ( if it exists ) and that you don't take up smoking because of the stress
