Might not be related but anybody get greenish/whitish spots that seem to reflect off when in a dark area but light is hitting off the camera? Notice it in Photo mode.
those are light reflections on the lens of the camera, not pixels

Is it just a trait of Apple users or all tech people to try to use a product in the most extreme possible way in the search for defects? It's like people here aren't happy until they find something wrong.
nope, has nothing to do with the batch, every sensor has them. Your test was probably not correct because i can see only black which is not the way to test it. Put it to 120fps, set brightness to 75% and record a relatively dimm location, like a room with only one weak light bulb turned on and then point the camera around, in darker spots for example. Once you find the pixels you will see them also in daylight
Nope, I tried 120fps/240fps dark room with dim lights look around and find no dead pixels, mine is perfect so far, and I know about dead pixels my nikon and canon dslr have a few damaged.
This is a very common issue in video recording, think you'd be hard pressed to find one that doesn't exhibit this problem to some extent
You are lucky yours have no pixels like that because there is a very low chance that any sensor is perfect
Do all the iPhones still have this issue ??? Should I exchange mine ???
I have three or four flickering spots on my 6. It shows in both 120 and 240, but it's very distracting in 240.
I'm apprehensive about exchanging it at this point since it seems to be a widespread issue (I also have uneven backlighting on my screen, but I've seen worse, so I don't want to get one of those...)![]()
I don't seam to have any issues with my 1 hour old iPhone 6....sure its just not grain? BTW I've dealt with high speed cameras before and its ALLOT different than regular speed stuff..
Yeah my Canon 550D has one or two hot pixels....honestly doesn't bother me and they don't pop up unless I push the ASA rating....Still don't see anything on my iPhone 6....Ill have to try it later when its really dark but right now I guess I'm getting used to the phone in general! My Sony SLT-A33 does this even with the advantage of an APS-C sized sensor. I would be surprised if a tiny phone camera sensor didn't exhibit this issue in a dark room.
If it happens outdoors on a cloudy day I'd be a little disappointed but to be honest as someone who has never seen the point in slow mo recording bar a bit of a gimmick it wouldn't be a deal breaker on mine. I'll find out next week if my 6+ does this.
