Strange all the varied experiences… today it was 90 degrees and 90% humidity… super aggressive dimming. Need a phone cooling case!

Ive owned an iPhone 12 Pro and it overheats and dims screen outdoor in just normal temps. Ive researched this extensively and posted about it. I am very familiar with how and why this happens.

Im looking for people with iPhone 13 to verify that the problem is no longer existent. So far this thread seems to point in both directions, and Im not very confident Apple has done anything to improve this matter. I never had this happen prior to iPhone 12. (6,7,8...)

I’ve never heard of this or ever had it happen. Can’t you just manually override the screen dimming or are manual brightness controls disabled when this happens?

Yeah this is the first I’ve ever heard of this. I have auto-brightness disabled, and I just crank it up to 100% when I’m outside. Always figured that’s just the nature of screens in general 🤷🏻‍♂️

Never once have I had my screen feel hot, or my phone shut down because I’m outside. There was one time my dad’s did that, when he left his on a table in the direct sun for a couple hours. It just has some weird symbol on a black screen, indicating the phone was too hot.

I’m outside right now…. In the shade. It’s 81 with a breeze…. My screen is barely viewable cuz it has dimmed so much.
That seems not right. I was outside in the sun yesterday, it was probably 10 degrees or more cooler, but I had the screen brightness cranked up to 100%, and with a case on it I'm not sure that the ambient temperature is going to effect it that much, and I didn't have a single problem.

That's with a 13 mini, not pro, but if anything it should be affected worse since it's smaller.
