It depends on the carrier.
In my country, one carrier uses LTE while another uses 4G to indicate LTE connectivity.
From a consumer perspective, it's essentially the same thing.
I wish Apple provided more granular indicators like Android, where it can show 4G or 4G+ to show a difference between LTE and LTE-A.
^^ if apple can read from the modem whether LTE Advanced is in use (Carrier aggregation basically) so as to display 5Ge for AT&T users in the US, why can’t they use this same technical implementation for display “4G+” for the rest of the world when carrier aggregation is in use. Really baffles me. In the UK showing 4G on the top right with a good signal can vary from 2Mbps to 200Mbps, it’s ridiculous.
