I was listening to music on my iPhone today and I noticed that it seemed like 95% of the sound was coming out of the left speaker and hardly any on the left. Should I be concerned? Has anyone else experienced this?

Only one speaker - left side.

Right side is microphone.

fyi: There are many threads on this subject. Also, the iPhone Users Guide has a diagram showing this.

It's not stereo, just 1 speaker.

Also, got to watch out cause sometimes your finger will cover it and almost completely cut it out.

It's pretty cool that you heard 5% of your sound coming from...a microphone.

My friend got freaked out about this the other day: "I dropped my iPhone and now one of the speakers doesn't work!"

While we're on the subject...

How much room can a mic possibly take? The button on the headset has the built-in mic and it's tiny. Never had anyone complain they couldn't hear me.

I think it would awesome if the second gen iphone came with 2 speakers and stereo sound! I believe it's totally feasable!

Maybe i understood what you mean

im having problems with my iphone too. the audio is a bit unbalanced... and i am talking about what came out from my stereo headphones plugged into it

Today a friend of mine proclaimed that my iPhone was broken because sound only came out of one of them....:D

the person on the other end also would go deaf if you had it on speaker phone

It's not impossible to have only the mic or the speaker working at any given point depending on what you are doing with the iPhone...

When doing phone things the speaker would be off while the mic is on, and the mic would be off when the speaker is on.
