I just check the 256G iphoneX ($1149) and Apple Care ($199) combo price. Man, well over $1500 after tax in California, and I believe this is the most expensive iPhone I will have.

I am with Cricket, so I am wondering if I can only online order TMobile unit like last year? or there are other options ?

Can you just not get AppleCare? Majority don't have use for it anyways.

hmm, my iphone 5s and 6s plus got replaced right after 1 year because the battery issue, and this is the reason I always get Apple Care on my phones

Crazy. Huh. Especially when compared to price of computer.

I never get Applecare, you might not know this, but you can actually replace batteries for those phones really easily, and a new battery is like $11. It is a real joke, don't need to pay Applecare for that. Replace it yourself for cheap and your phone will be as good as new. Speaking from personal experience here.

Ermmm... These phones ARE a computer. That fit in your pocket.

It seems like so many people these days not even need a desktop/laptop anymore on a daily basis. Only needed for productivity purposes.

suicide suggestion. OLED might have burn in screen.....there were problems with OLED tv...so ....
I think we have to look at how much that display really costs. iPhone 6S display on amazon costs about $19 bucks... and is also easy to replace yourself. Speaking from personal experience. If I can do it, anyone should be able to!

It doesn't matter how much it cost. Without knowing the potential of damages that may occur, protection is actually the best to go. Preventative or Reactive?

Yes, I agree. Use phones more than laptop. Just pointing out almost price of entry level 5k, 27"

True, but desktop technology has been mature for quite a while now.

Making things smaller always costs more. Plus with the amount of custom components Apple puts in these phones, it's not surprising they cost what they do.

Well buy a 19$ screen that is either refurbished with non gorilla glass or you get a crappy screen also without gorilla glass. Those cheap screens can’t compared to the original

It amazes me what an iPhone can do today. And how much we rely on them every day for computing purposes, it's not just about making phone calls and notifications anymore. They literally are the most personal device someone owns, where someone depends on it.
