Just received my X, comparing to the Plus models, the screen is longer but it's more narrow... Does this mean that when I watch a video horizontally the video will be smaller than the Plus model? :/

Yes, you have a choice of:
  • Full screen, zoomed in with notch
  • Borders left and right
  • Borders all around (depending on aspect)
Surely you knew that, along with the screen dimensions, before ordering?

Did you really not know this when you bought it? Narrow is also relative. Yes, it's narrower than the display on the Plus in portrait orientation. But it's taller.

This is the problem with measuring screens diagonally. It was good when we had specific aspect ratios to adhere to years ago. That was all thrown out the window.

I won't fault you for not knowing. Lukcily you can return it if you are unhappy. At least if you bought from Apple.
