Hello All,

I have accumulated around 4.5k Photos in my iphoto library now and i am trying to back them up, i have the photos on the imac internal drive and also on a external drive but i really want to export them in their origional quality so what i was doing was using the built in export feature and saving them to a folder on my desktop and i was then going to burn them to 2 DVS's (wont fit on 1) however i keep getting this error message unable to create/....[path here] and i cant for the life of me fix it.

Can someone help?

Although this isn't really providing you with an answer for your actual problem, if you backup the iPhoto Library (found in /user/pictures) that actually contains the original and modified photos. So if you back that up, you are covered for both.

But of course, that does require a Mac to access, so I can understand why you'd want to burn them to DVD's independently.

I have backed that file up to a seperate location but the raw files i want to backup also it is pictures of my baby and the kids and i really dont want to loose them as i only have the digital copies.

I hope somone can help with this.
Kind Regards

I found the problem, their were 2 photos in the library that had been given a thumbnail but the actual photo had become corrupt so when you tried to view it iphoto would just show a grey screen removing these photos and then tried to export the photos fixed the problem.

I dont know why apple has decided that this is the best option for managing thumbnails in line with main images, becuase if one becomes corrupt you have got no idea that the actual photo is corrupt.
