iPhoto 9.1 crashing after 10.6.5 install

iPhoto crashes immediately and doesn't launch after I installed OS 10.6.5. Anyone else having this problem? I repaired permissions.

in order to open iPhoto, you need to update to the latest version
Please run software update to install it now

but when i run software update..it says
my software is up to date

What I'm finding after upgrading is that I can no longer import photos from my iPhone. I simply get a message box with:

Photos are being imported to the photo library.

Please wait for import to complete.

And nothing happens.

After a re-start of iPhoto, things seem to be working okay now. I was able to import the photos.

I had the same problem after doing a 10.6.5 update, iPhoto 9.1 crashed, iTunes was unstable. I downloaded the 10.6.5 combined and reinstalled. All problems solved and printing from 4.2GM still works for me.
