and iPhoto's organization structure is actually very simple, once you understand it. goes by dates.
 
On that note...

What if I want to create a photo calendar for, say, 1961 :D?

I'm scanning images in yet they *were not* taken in 2006 - just scanned

is there anyway around iPhoto adding these old photos to the 2006 calendar?

How can you do that? I used to have it like this when I still had my PB. But since I got my MBP I can't seem to firhure out how I strucutre them by date and not by roll
