iPhoto freezes my 27" iMac?

    I don't do much editing but imported my photos into iPhoto. I've also used the mosaic iPhoto screen saver and whenever I open up iPhoto or the screensaver settings my computer starts spinning balls and also freezes the balls so as they are not spinning just stuck in a beach ball looking thing.

    After this happens I can't quit the System Preferences and will have to go to Force Quit which says (not responding) beside of it.

    What's going on? This computer should be able to handle what is built into the computer shouldn't it? I send in the report every time to Apple just so they can look at it.

    Have you created a new temporary iPhoto library with a smaller subset of images and tried to replicate the issue? You may also want to create an album in iPhoto; this should identify whether it's an issue with the entire library or part of it.
