Iphoto Imports

Im looking to place a particular group of photos into iPhoto
I would like them to be placed in the same album
but i know as soon as i import them. They will be sorted by date
is there anyway to create a folder, import them and keep them in that grouping
I know iPhoto has a "last import" section however this disappears as soon as you add a new group of photos

any info would be helpful

After iPhoto imports them into different events, you can then just merge them by dragging one event on top of another. Or alternatively, you can create an album and then drag whatever photos you want into it from any number of events.
