I just imported all my photos from my old Windows computer into iPhoto on my new Mac. The photos add up to about 15GB ("Get Info" on containing folder), but my iPhoto Library is apparently 99GB! Is this normal? I have it set to copy the pictures into the library, and I know it creates thumbnails of all the pics...but this seems very overinflated to me.

15GB -> 99GB is not normal. I would trash the iPhoto library and try again. Did you do anything else besides import? No editing or rotating etc?
