iphoto library

I've managed to mess up my iphoto library. Can anyone help? In my ignorance I moved a couple of photo's in the library only to find out later that moving things in the library ain't a good thing to do; I can't access most of the photo's at full size. Next I find that if you press command/option on iphoto launch you can rebuild said library. That seems to have made things ten times worse. Now everytime I click on Anything in iphoto it takes ages to spin out - like even scrolling up or down, and I still can't access my photo's. Any help out there??
