iPhoto missing?

I just purchased a new iMac and today my iPhoto icon went missing from the dock? I went looking for it in spotlight but could not find it!

I think what happened was that I accedently dragged the icon off the dock and the puff of smoke came !

anyone know how to get it back?

Go to the Applications folder and drag the iPhoto app back to the dock.

its not in in the applications folder!

Then you accidentally deleted it. You can reinstall from the restore discs.

The dock isn't a place for permanent storage. Everything there is just an alias to another item on your computer.

the restore disks are those gray disks that came with my iMac right?

if i reinstall will my iWork that i purchased go away?

If you reinstall the iLife apps, then no, your iWork wont go away. Don't reinstall everything, just insert the disc. Open it from the desktop and you should see an option to install Bundled Software Only. Choose that. Then choose the apps you want.
