iPhoto, multiple users?

Hi all,

Thinking about buying my first mac but I had one question...

I have a professional photo library and a personal one. I'd like to use iPhoto as my photo viewing photo software, but I don't want to mix both sets together.

Can anyone offer any tips on how to split them up? Is it even possiible?

I guess I can just use two user accounts but Id rather not...

iPhoto supports multiple photo libraries. If you hold the OPTION key on the keyboard while you click to launch iPhoto, it will ask you to pick which library you want to open (or give you the option to create a new one).

iPhoto, multiple users with one NAS?

Hello. I have a similar but opposite need. Am I able to use a network attached storage device, fully accessible by my Mac's through AFP as a fileshare, to house a single iPhoto library that is accessible and maintained by several people using a couple MacBooks?

I seem to be able to only maintain a Library on a computer drive rather than a shared drive.

I have a similar situation/set of needs, and what I do is use iPhoto for my personal pictures, and Aperture for my professional shots (also since it clearly has many more options and flexibility than iPhoto) and is not that expensive.
