    Hey all,

First time poster, long time lurker.

To begin, I'm using the Mountain Lion Developer Preview 1. I've kept my machine up-to-date through the Mac App Store and have recently run into a small problem. My iPhoto will no longer open. It says that there's a problem with the ProKit version. I have no idea how to fix this (besides either updating the Developer Preview or just reinstalling Lion). I'm a fairly resourceful guy and have been able to patch all previous issues that I've faced while using this DP, but honestly have no idea what to do now.

If anyone can enlighten me on how to either update (or downgrade) my ProKit version or even iPhoto please let me know. I'd rather not go through the painful process of reinstalling my OS or going to a newer DP of ML. The only reason I have the DP1 on here in the first place is because my friend insisted it would be a good idea and easy to use.

Thanks for your help MacRumors, I appreciate it.

I would highly suggest you update to a newer version of the DP. It will most likely fix itself. It won't require a complete re-install. I also highly recommend that in the future, even if your friend says you should, do NOT install Dev Previews. They are in essence a beta, and not suited for commercial use.

Thanks, I'm downloading a newer version of the ML DP now. I'm just glad the retail version is going to be released soon.

Speaking of which, I can upgrade from a DP straight to a full version of ML, right? I don't need to do a clean install? If not, I suppose I should just do that now and get it over with sooner rather than later.

ps. I will never install a dev preview on a personal computer again. I only needed to learn that lesson once.
