iPhoto old pictures

Where are all of my old photo's in iPhoto? Preferences only let you choose 18 months back. The concerning part is when I look in finder and show package contents of my iPhoto library it does not show my photos back to 2005 which I know were there.
 
That option to show photos upto 18 months back, creates a folder that shows what you've imported in the last x months. I have mine set on 2 months, anything before that is not shown.

If you click on Library/Events, all of your photos should be there.
