Is there a way to show your photos full screen without using slideshow?

Just double click on your desired photo and "Hey Presto"!

You can just use the full screen edit mode.

Double clicking on the photo puts it into full screen edit mode. On my iMac (OSX10.5 c/w iLife 09) at least. Check your preferences if that hasn't worked.

yes you can, Click the full screen button, It's on the bottom left of Iphoto. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like.
