iPhoto repeatedly hanging after ~15 seconds

My (30gig) library now hangs iPhoto after being open for around 15 seconds, and requires a Force Quit.

it doesn't do it with a 'new' library, so I assume the problem is with my library i.e. it is probably corrupt.

So, what do I do?

I had a similar problem. I moved mine to an external hd and it actually solved the issue.

M library is only about 6 gigs.

Tried it, no luck yet. Going to try to carve it into littler bits.
