This really is a noob question. I am starting to learn my way around osx and I am just trying to work out some basic things. I am trying to upload a photo from iPhoto onto my own forums. So I browse for the photo, but i cannot browse the photos.

So, how do I select a photo from the iPhoto library into a browse window.

Thanks,

The simplest way I've found is simply to drag the photo to the desktop. The original will remain in iPhoto so you can delete the one on the desktop when you're done with it.

Dragging the photo from iPhoto to your desktop will create a copy of the photo on your desktop - it will not touch the photos "contained" in iPhoto. However this can result in huge photos (and file sizes) which may not be appropriate for internet distribution.

Instead, you should go to File -> Export, and chose the "File Export" tab. Change kind to JPEG, JPEG Quality to medium or high, and size to "medium" which will constrain your photos to fit within a 640 x 640 (so most standard size photos will end up 640 x 480).
