iPitaka qi charging mount

Does the iPitaka qi charging mount have a smooth back plate behind the charging piece? I'm wondering if I can just attach it to my own custom porsche mount with accessory tape, instead of using the mounts that come with the iPitaka.

No the pad does not have the ball welded to the charging panel. I purchased this to give me the same option I use in my SUV.

I think with some work and de-engineering, you could remove the ball mount from the back of the Pitaka mount. It does not appear molded to it.

If you're looking for a much simpler magnetic mount (without Qi) to remove the ball from, check out the Spigen Kuel. I removed the ball from that with relative ease to attach the ball to my Evutec mount. The remaining Spigen mount was flat (albeit with the slots from the ball mount).
