iPod iPod 20GB Color Not Holding Charge

(I did a search on this and couldnt find any answers)
The battery on my 20gb iPod color screen is not holding a charge.
After I plug it in and charge it fully, everything seems normal. But after I come back to it a day later, it doesnt have enough battery to stay on longer than 2 minutes.
Im charging it through the wall
Using a Y apple cable.

have you tried resetting it?

if so just bring it to apple store and they may replace it for you

I'll try to reset it and see if that works, but I dont live near an apple store so I wont be able to take it in.

Ok, I called apple and they are sending me a new cable. They gave me a dispatch number and I was wondering where I can look this up on apple's site. Is there a place I can get a tracking number and see when this shipment is supposewd to get to me?

On the right of the screen under the picture of a wrench and a screwdriver choose 'check your repair status' That'll give you where your request is (if it's shipping, etc.)
