iPod 4G > iCloud > iPod 5G

Hello, just wondering how this works. I have a iPod touch 4G right now that is backed up to iCloud. I am planning to get a new iPod touch 5G and do a restore from iCloud to get all my apps and data back. If I do this, will I need to erase the old iPod? I figure you probably can't have two iPods backed up to the same iCloud, right?
