iPod iPod 80 gb HDD question

i'm used to flash HD's like the nanos.

Is it normal to feel and hear the HDD like on my MacBook?
If not how can this happen on an iPod that i got on the 11th?

Yeah, I hear mine every now and then when it spins up to transfer data to the RAM. Same on my 3 year old 3G too, I wouldn't be worried.

With such a large HDD in such a small container I'd be worried if I couldn't hear it.
