Is this normal when using Brasso? Or did I just do too much?

I would say 1 hour with toothpaste, at least. Then 2-3 roughly hour long periods with Brasso. I was not paying attention and was doing other stuff, so I am not sure how long exactly.

I also rubbed too hard.

But nonetheless, I am still impressed, and satisfied!

Now that's dedication. I am getting tired of doing this after 15 minutes!

Keep in mind that these times may not be entirely accurate.

Try to check the condition of the back after every 10 minutes or so, maybe even 5.

Good Luck!

When you are buffing with Brasso, there should be a black residue coming off onto whatever you are rubbing with.

I am currently rubbing off the information on the bottom...

It seems to be removing the anodized, or whatever material comprised the engraving, and leaving just the indentation where they put it. Very cool. :D

This is how far I have gotten. The text and [30GB] on bottom has almost been removed.

Very Shiny...

Ok I think we get the picture.

Don't be an ass.

I like it though! I think I might get rid of all the extra stuff I don't want on the back of mine...hmm.

I am not being an ass but there are way too many pictures.

I posted these here so I someone wanted to permamently alter and remove the markings on the back of their expensive iPod, they would know exactly what the end result is.

If you feel there are too many pictures, don't read this thread.

I am sorry but it was becoming difficult to read the thread.

Cool Idea.

But with the pictures how about just adding a URL or something. That is if you have webspace or somewhere to upload them.

With that said i don't think I could set and rub on my iPod for hours.
