This is the message I keep getting from my new U2 Ipod (bought in the States last week). I'd also like to change it to manual setting but when I go into preferences>ipod> it says'no ipod is connected'. This is my second thread - I was grateful for the response to my initial thread but it doesn't solve the problem - I'm wondering now whether 'the required file cannot be found' and 'no ipod present ' are connected. Again, I'd be very grateful for any advice !
Thanks
DavidW:)

Uggghhh

I have this same problem! After the pop-up message appears saying "the required file can not be found", my NEW video ipod will then lock up for about 20 min-3 hours..before running out of battery. Then I must re-charge it...I have repeated this cycle about 6 times today!
What the hell is going on? I'm so frustrated.
