I synced my iPod to my mac and it said that it could not read or write to the disk... it stopped downloading my songs from iTunes and just held there, saying do not disconnect. It wasn't doing anything, stopped putting songs on iPod, even though there were still songs to put on it. Throughout the entire transfer it stopped downloading songs and said syncing to iPod, multiple times. Another note is that it was set to windows, but then iTunes said that it would change it to work better with mac os X, it reset it iPod then synced with iTunes. How can I fix this issue, or do I have to go back and get one meant for macs? d'oh

I would love to try and help but I don't understand a thing you just said.

Restore the iPod to factory settings and report back.

hahhaah... i do that sometimes...

I already restored iPod to factory settings

when i first got my iPod i noticed that it was set to windows... when I plugged it in to my mac it noticed that fact and said that it was optimizing it to mac. It reset the iPod and then synced with my mac, but every minute iTunes said again, syncing with the iPod, as it downloaded my library. It did not download all of my songs in 2 syncs. The first pass it went all the way to P when there was an error message which stated, attempting to copy to the disk "iPod" failed disk could not be read from or written to. the box says that it requires OS X 10.3.9... would it be an issue if I am running 10.4.10?
